Zee's Densities Collection. Impairments place a damper on this 3-dollar duo, but how often does one find an auction lot with two certified examples? Included are: 1854 (delicate hairlines subtly traverse the lower portrait, erasing a few contact marks), and 1874 (glittering brightly as is typical of previously edge-mounted examples). Ancient Coins-Roman Empire
Pacific Coast Highway Collection. OBV: Roman consul walking left accompanied by two lictors. REV: eagle facing left stands on scepter clutching laurel wreath in right talon. That ancient technology was capable of such detail on both sides of a coin nearly defies belief. While struck perhaps 15% off-center, the flan still somehow received flowline effect very much similar to modern cartwheel luster.
