Half Dollars-Flowing Hair
Overton-129 (R.5), "S/D" on reverse. Even the older PCGS slab should have called out this Overton variety that is popular for the blundered final "S" punched in over an erroneous "D" in STATES. Prime die struck this example as there is no sign at all of the reverse die crack that eventually develops beneath the left ribbon end. A plethora of adjustment marks dominate the obverse upper left field and though the surface cannot be deemed "original", decent coloration has begun to enrich the rim areas.
