  • Lot #638 - 1891-O NGC MS-65
  • Hammer: $3,600
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • 91 graded MS-65, 2 graded MS-65 "star", 8 higher at NGC. For a date reputed to have weak strikes, the detailing couldn't be much better on this gem 1891-O dollar. Individual strands of hair wave over Liberty's ear although the eagle's breast feathers show a faint touch of softness. On top of that, this is an unusually pretty example, layered in yolk-gold on the obverse while the reverse boasts a lovely, shimmering band of turquoise around a broad, silver-rose center.
