PMG has wisely graded this sheet as Gum Uncirculated 65 EPQ. It is worth mentioning that the serial numbers range from A000007 through A000012 and that the Charter number is #31. O-101, prime dies. There is no evidence of clashed dies for this famous key to the series. Scarcity for the date can be explained by the one-day delivery of the entire mintage -- 47-thousand -- on January 10,1816 which was the day immediately preceding a major fire at the Mint. The mint was not operational again for practically the rest of the year. One might not state that the surfaces for this sharp example are entirely original as some glossy tan texture shows, interspersed with purple and neon-violet peripheral accents, but the coin suffers no damage nor distracting issues. Individual feathers within the eagle's right (observed) wing are nicely outlined while a few feathers in the left wing merge just slightly.

I have to admit, this one won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but you will have to admit that it’s pretty darn cool! The center has a precious orangey marquise coral cabochon. There is a freeform, bezel set fossilized ammonite stone and the piece is completed with a elongated cabochon identified as rutilated quartz. None of the stones have indications of polymers or dyes, Stone Group Laboratories report #240827R-SJ. This piece has a pin on the back and also opens so it can be added to chain. Dimensions 4" x 1.5", 26.2 dwt.
