Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
Cheddars de Voirs Collection. Mintage: 22,410. Surprisingly strong luster remains prevalent on both sides, cheerfully illuminating bright dandelion-yellow and golden orange hues. The reverse plainly has claims to at least AU-50 all by itself. Typical abrasions scatter widely across either side, joined by a few bolder marks left of Liberty's mouth and flung right of the hair knot. Housed in a much older no-line holder, one can have confidence that this appealing, vibrant coin has remained unaltered for at least a few decades.

Extremely lustrous for the grade, which is all the more remarkable given how heavily the obverse has been draped in shining copper-orange and surrounding cyan and cobalt hues. The reverse sees somewhat less color and the overall erratic pattern might suggest long-term Kraft envelope storage.
