During the Civil War, paper was a scarcely found source in the Confederate south. As such, any paper documents from this time period and geographic location are very hard to find and rarely see the open market. Two such pieces known as “Confederate Certificates” makes up this scarcely seen lot that includes a $1,000 and an even scarcer $100,000 cert.
