  • Lot #823 - 1821 Large Date PCGS VF-30, 1827 PCGS VF-30, and an 1833 F
  • Hammer: $650
  • Dimes-Capped Bust
  • Revert Peaks Consignment. The collector putting together a Red Book collection of Capped Bust dimes can fill three holes quickly with this nicer, middle grade trio. Included are: 1821 large date (a little glossy but boldly detailed and showing gunmetal accents along with trace luster), 1827 (uncommonly original and boasting particularly sharp reverse detailing), and 1833 (very strong Fine with claims to VF and featuring lovely powder-grey patina and an utterly problem-free surface). Three coin lot.

  • Lot #647 - 1887-S PCGS MS-65+
  • Hammer: $2,550
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • 28 graded MS-65+, 53 higher at PCGS. While the reverse is only lightly toned with silvery-character overall, surrounded by a nice ring of amber gold, the obverse offers even more attractive peach coloration that dazzles the eye because of ravishing mint luster. San Francisco was back in the habit of striking high-quality dollars by 1887, as is quickly discernible by every last detail erupting within Liberty's tresses as well as within the eagle's feathers. No major marks at all affect the surface.
