  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Dazzling displays of robust luster and sensational colors fills this eight-piece group lot of PCGS certified Morgan silver dollars from start to finish. Five of these pieces are graded as MS-63 and includes an 1887, an 1896, an 1898-O, an 1899-O, and a 1904-O. The remaining three examples are all graded MS-64 and includes an 1881-S and 2x 1885-O’s. While all of these issues boast heavily toned fields that are adequately attractive, one of the 1885-O issues stands out with a truly jaw dropping rainbow/target hybrid toning scheme that commands attention (ck)!

  • Lot #519 - 1893-CC NGC MS-62
  • Hammer: $14,750
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • 163 graded MS-62, 20 higher at NGC. Although the final Carson City twenty is also one of the most common, hardly any meet true choice consideration although this very select example truly comes close. Liberty's cheek is not nearly as abraded as one might expect of the grade, and only faint scruffy areas show within the fields -- invisible except under specific viewing angles. Bright golden yellow hue emanates from beautifully frosted fields and unlike many double-eagles that tend to have a nicer reverse compared to the obverse, this coin appears equally attractive as viewed from either side. An exceptional strike also falls well within gem expectations.
