  • Lot #528 - 1867 Proof Cameo
  • Hammer: $4,500
  • Silver Dollar-Liberty Seated
  • Cataloger’s grade: [PR-64 CAM], and in an unusual flip of the script, the obverse is the stronger side showing no discernible hairlines within the broad, deep mirrors and scarcely any haziness. Despite a mintage of 625 pieces, as with many Reconstruction proof coins, survival has proven limited, especially of such high-quality examples. In the age of "slab everything" mentality, one never encounters such a high-caliber proof type coin outside of encapsulation, rendering a phenomenal opportunity for astute bidders.
