  •
  • Lot #328 - 1852-C NGC XF details/cleaned
  • Gold $2.50-Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
  • As is typical for 1852-C, the obverse sports rather strong overall details while the reverse shows blunt softness off a well-worn die. Much nicer in appearance than a "cleaned" disclaimer would imply.

  • Lot #653 - 1889-CC AU details
  • Hammer: $3,700
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Cataloger's grade: [AU/reverse tooled]. The net value might be something like VF-35 to XF-40 as the obverse appears natural and attractive to the eye while retaining about a third of the as-struck mint luster. Weirdly, the entire reverse field area has been tooled to shallow extent -- nearly invisible beneath steam-grey patina.
