  • Oh no, another turtle! Well, when it is an Italian designer piece by CORLETTO, you just have to showcase! Crafted in 18K yellow gold, the fur clip or dress pin on offer features black enamel eyes and a red and white enamel turtle shell embellished with a flower design and small round brilliant diamond accents. The seven gemstones weigh approximately .15 cttw, SI clarity, G-H color. Trombone closure for one side of the clip. Enamel is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Dimensions: 1.5” x 1.2”, 13.7 dwt.

  • Lot #458 - 1893 NGC MS-61 PL CAC
  • Hammer: $2,600
  • Gold $10-Liberty Head Eagle
  • Decidedly prooflike with the kind of granular reflectivity expected of a true specimen striking, thus creating dramatic eye-appeal for an otherwise common issue. Obviously, those bold mirrors overemphasize abrasions that spray liberally into all fields. Thickly frosted on the splendidly delineated motifs.

  • Lot #392 - 1911-D Strong D PCGS MS-62
  • Hammer: $8,000
  • Gold $2.50-Indian Head Quarter Eagle
  • At first glance, the quality seems much superior to MS-62, and even careful scrutiny will find only the most trivial abrasions, about the size of flea specks. MS-64 almost seems like a possibility until one discovers light hairlines erratically scattered within the fields, albeit they are clearly toned down by the attractive yellow-gold color. Almost fully struck and showing a nice, sharp "D" mintmark on the reverse.
