An antique Victorian 14K Gold (tested) set including a pair of earrings a pin. Crafted in England, and still nestled in its original box, each piece of the demi-parure features a faceted diamond and a multitude of natural pearls. The pieces are in excellent condition and overall, a lovely set of jewelry to gift. The pin holds one old mine cut diamond weighing approximately .30 ct., SI clarity, I color as well as 30 natural pearls. The earrings are suspended from non-pierced screw backs and each piece holds one 2.5mm old cut round diamond as well as 15 natural pearls. Newcomb-2, and unusual for the date in that a very good quality planchet managed to evade the environmental effects commonly seen for 1821. What was not avoided was some mishandling during commerce that imparted a pinscratch in front of the nose and a handful more vague hairline-thin abrasions on the portrait. Fortunately, surprisingly decent eye-appeal carries the day and suggests to the cataloger an EAC estimate of F15.

Overton-125, R.4. Curiously spattered in linear waves of gunmetal grey and aluminum hues on the obverse, while the reverse features a more consistent and even pattern of coral-grey. Sparse traces of luster can still be found on the reverse with ease, interacting with protected areas of the wreath, while the obverse shows virtually no luster at all. Struck off of clashed dies yet certainly sharply detailed.
