Gold Dollars-Indian Princess Head, Large Head
Mintage: 7500. 2 graded MS-67+. 3 higher at NGC. Low mintages don't typically grant large quantities of high-grade survivors, but the low mintage run of gold dollars seem to have been saved in unusually high quantities. Here is a borderline outrageous coin that could challenge the appeal of many well-preserved proof examples as both sides display exquisite sharpness and obvious cameo contrast. Apparently a bit of a later striking, orange peel effect has begun to develop within the hair, while continued thorough examination finds two microscopic abrasions right of "1" in the denomination.

Dino-Mite Collection. A fairly brief area over Liberty's head and scampering up over the rim has isolated microporosity that leads to the "corrosion removed" disclaimer. Still, the coin provides considerable luster and has taken on decent almond-silver toning overall.
