Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. KM#377.12, San Luis Potosi mint, erroneous "iP" mintmark. Considered "rare" according to some sources, scarcity stems from erroneous use of "iP" as the mintmark instead of Pi. This specific issue is virtually unobtainable in mint-state and the present VF-30 represents a rather high grade. Further, this appears to be a lovely, original example that suffers no distractions.
