Gold $5-Classic Head Half Eagle
McCloskey 4-C (R.4), block 8, plain 4, second head. 1834 marked the year when the mint changed design for the half-eagle, as the intrinsic value of each coin made it profitable (over face value) to melt them down for bullion. 4-C can most quickly be attributed by noticing a die crack that ejects from the top of Liberty's modified portrait. Noticeable flowline texture nearly touching the rims speaks also to later dies.

Decent cartwheel effect remains evident on the obverse while the reverse displays even more energy. Enriched with deeper golden hue.
