Silver Dollar-Liberty Seated
Mintage: 27,200. Cataloger's grade: [AU/cleaned] even though considerable patina has returned after spending decades in album storage. Noticeable luster percolates between the stars but is somehow a little distorted in broader areas of the field due to abrading. A precisely struck silver dollar that looks a lot nicer than the disclaimer might imply.

Properly graded, the obverse appears to be essentially UNC, but two noticeable circulation marks correctly constrain the grade. Full flowline vitality propagates all the way through the reverse fields. A bright and sharply struck Civil War double-eagle.

I have to admit, this one won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but you will have to admit that it’s pretty darn cool! The center has a precious orangey marquise coral cabochon. There is a freeform, bezel set fossilized ammonite stone and the piece is completed with a elongated cabochon identified as rutilated quartz. None of the stones have indications of polymers or dyes, Stone Group Laboratories report #240827R-SJ. This piece has a pin on the back and also opens so it can be added to chain. Dimensions 4" x 1.5", 26.2 dwt.
