  • Lot #770 - 1902, 1907-O, and 1908-S, as described
  • Hammer: $400
  • Half Dollars-Barber
  • 101st Airborne Collection. Better grades apply for this group of Barber half-dollar that includes an interesting specimen. Included with CATALOGER GRADE ESTIMATES are: 1902 (VF+, attractive smoky-grey and olive overtones but a small rim bump at 10:00), 1907-O (AU, slate-grey and dove toning a little streaky; this appears to be a "mumps" variety as described in a recent Barber Collectors Society journal, showing a raised area on the cheek), and 1908-S (VF, a bit low-key beneath a blanket of opaque greyish-tan patina). Three coin lot.

  • Lot #362 - 1854-O PCGS AU-53
  • Hammer: $625
  • Gold $2.50-Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
  • At a comparable price, 1854-O makes a nice option for type purposes when found with this much remaining mint luster. The obverse of this example also shows intricate details, balanced against moderate softness on the reverse.
