Large Cents-Draped Bust
Sheldon-266, die-state IV, the 1804 date obviously a key and even more elusive due to how many collectors pursue S-266 by die-state. For this bold example, rim breaks show plainly over RTY and MERIC. Dies are rotated by about 20 degrees for a coin that makes the cataloger's grade of [XF/corrosion removed], and the surface has been rather nicely recolored with chestnut-brown patina that has olive inflections on the reverse.

Some will find intermingling of yolk-gold and subtle mossy green to be attractive on the obverse, while the reverse seems a bit more muted by comparison -- this side features dusky chartreuse-grey and olive hues. Superbly struck, as seems common for this high-population date.
