  • Lot #600 - Four chop marked Trade dollars
  • Hammer: $1,050
  • Silver Dollar-Trade Dollars
  • Judo chop! The Trade silver dollar was designed and distributed by the United States Mint in an attempt to compete with other countries ‘trade” silver coins that were being used in East Asia. As a result, these were very commonly “chop marked” as a practice of authentication. Four such examples come together to make this group lot that includes an 1874-S and 3x 1875-S issues. Each of these displays various chop marks with lightly cleaned fields and Almost Uncirculated details (ck).

  • Hammer: $2,500
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Pinpoint sharpness speaks to an expert strike, as does intense cartwheel energy readily pinwheeling around both sides. The grade was undoubtedly limited mostly by a sizable abrasion on the cheek, as well as a glut of tiny abrasions across the whole surface.
