Benjamin J. Collection. Much better commemorative types get UNC details assessment at PCGS. Included are: Grant "star" (unusually bold clashed die and utterly insignificant signs of cleaning -- perhaps AU-58 would be a more veracious assessment), and Antietam (so-called cleaning is simply not meaningfully visible "through the plastic" for what appears to be a reasonably choice, brilliant white example). Two coin lot.

74 graded MS-65 DMPL, 27 higher at PCGS. Even earlier strikes than what is seen here for 1898 have earned "UDM" at ANACS in years past but there is no question about the raving eye-appeal of this utterly prooflike example. The contrast may not be as strong as some but the portraits float over ice-water mirrors on either side. The reverse seems a trifle better detailed than the obverse, both sides being nicely struck overall.
