  • Judo chop! The Trade silver dollar was designed and distributed by the United States Mint in an attempt to compete with other countries ‘trade” silver coins that were being used in East Asia. As a result, these were very commonly “chop marked” as a practice of authentication. Four such examples come together to make this group lot that includes an 1874-S and 3x 1875-S issues. Each of these displays various chop marks with lightly cleaned fields and Almost Uncirculated details (ck).

  • No Problem Consignment. Brilliance and visual appeal are all that of a CU example, in addition to fair centering inside of the usual tight margins. It isn't easy to detect the faint fold at the top right corner, but that assures the AU58 grade is correct, even if it underestimates the note's true appeal.
