Large Cents-Draped Bust
Elm Then Almond Collection. Sheldon-189, a famously near-impossible key date to get straight-graded at any major grading service. Contrary to many low-grade pieces that have either a weak date or LIBERTY, this example features a nicely bold date, and LIBERTY has partial weakness only at the upper third of each letter. The coin was struck off of early dies, showing a small die chip between "E" of ONE and "T" of CENT -- a worthy diagnostic as to authenticity. An amazingly nice surface for the grade given the utter lack of environmental effects aside from normal circulation.

Lot #414 - 1878 PCGS MS-64+ CAC

THE common entry for the three dollar gold piece, 1878 most often serves type purposes near the gem grade level. That said, this is an exceptional example for MS-64+, utterly filled with tortoise-shell luster patterns and dominated by beautiful, fresh medium golden color. A small copper spot escapes between the first two digits of the date.

An adorable flower pin with two large brown diamonds in the center, one is an approximate .50 ct. round, I1 clarity and the other is an approximate .50 ct. cut-corner modified square, I1 clarity. The lovely piece is also accented with an estimated 1.50 cttw in brilliant cut round diamonds, SI clarity, H color. Dimensions 2.5” x 1.5”, 13.1 dwt.
