  • Lot #322 - Four Liberty Head quarter eagles, all PCGS MS-62
  • Hammer: $1,750
  • Gold $2.50-Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
  • Obviously original surfaces that offer both full bodied luster and mild traces of “mint dust” are readily apparent when looking over this four coin lot of PCGS certified quarter-eagle gold Liberties. Each of these consecutive year issues have been graded as MS-62 and are more than adequate for the assigned grade. This run includes a 1902, a 1903, a 1904, and a 1905 example that are each housed in older generation holders. Unmolested gold type like this is becoming increasingly difficult to find in today’s marketplace (ck).

Forty two examples that range in grade from Almost Uncirculated through Gem Uncirculated are noticed throughout and includes the following examples: a 1917 (AU++), a 1920 (AU++), a 1933-S (AU), a 1934 (BU++), a 1934-D (BU+), a 1934-S (BU), a 1935 (BU++), a 1935-D (BU+), a 1935-S (BU), a 1936 (BU+), a 1936-D (BU+), a 1936-S (BU+), a 1937 (BU+), a 1937-D (BU++), a 1937-S (BU+), a 1938 (BU+), a 1938-D (BU+), a 1939 (BU++), a 1939-D (BU+), a 1939-S (BU+), a 1940 (BU), a 1940-S (BU++), and many more! There is a remaining “short set” of twenty examples from 1941 through 1947 that is littered with examples that are Choice to Gem Uncirculated and beyond. This is a truly must view collection for anyone interested (ck).
