Lot #830 - Collection of 77 Large Cents in a Dansco 7099 album

Large Cents-Liberty Head
Merely three pieces are missing from this collection of middle and late-date large cents, yet the final page features seven additional varieties for which there were no slots to begin with. The consignor took great pains to assemble coins with nice color, and two slab inserts have been included, namely for: 1835 lg 8 lg stars (PCGS VF-30) and 1851/81 (PCGS AU-50). A list of coins begins with 1816 Fine, 1817 13 star VG, 1818 VG, 1819 Fine, 1821 G/obverse scratched, 1822 G/corrosion, 1823 AG but choice, 1824 G, 1825 VFG, 1826 G, 1827 G, and 1828 XF details. VG coins more-or-less are 1829 lg lt, 1829 md lt, 1830 lg lt, 1830 md lt, 1831 lg lt, 1831 md lt, and 1832 md lt followed by 1833 with VF details. More VG examples follow: four 1834 major varieties and 1835 sm 8 and stars. Coins begin to have VG to Fine sharpness, mostly with attractive surfaces, starting with 1835 head of 36 to 1839 booby head. 1839 begins a run of VF to XF examples through 1842 sm dt, with a somewhat varied range of VG to XF coins dated through 1857 small and large dates. Additional examples with good or better details include 1817 15-stars, 1819/8, 1820/19, 1828 sm dt, 1819 sm dt, 1820 lg dt, and 1830 lg lt. 77 coins total.
