The labeling error might add a bit of value for collectors of technical errors... or perhaps the grade is wrong as well as the coin appears about a point nicer than MS-62 at first glance. Utterly vibrant luster speeds around both sides, so it isn't easy to figure out exactly why PCGS couldn't go fully choice on this attractive double-eagle OOPS ten-dollar gold piece.

Anyone who has ever delved into the “vintage” silver bullion market knows that Engelhard is the king of kings within that realm. Odd sized pieces have taken on a marketplace of its own over the past decade or so and this piece is one of the scarcest offerings! This is a second series unique 4oz. ingot with a top hallmark in an elongated octagon. There are fewer than 100 of these pieces believed to be in existence and this is a particularly nice example for the type. Serial #3150 (ck).
