  • Lot #103 - Russia - 1742-MM rouble - PCGS VF-30
  • Hammer: $700
  • World Coins-Russia
  • KM#C18.1, Moscow mint, Bitkin-140. Phenomenal dove-grey and aluminum compete for real estate across this large and virtually unblemished crown. Rims show a bit of effect from circulation but nothing obtrusive shows against the PCGS slab gasket. A much rarer type in better grader off of Moscow.

  • Lot #3 - Roman Empire - Brutus (44-42 BC) stater - NGC Choice Uncirculated
  • Hammer: $2,100
  • Ancient Coins-Roman Empire
  • Pacific Coast Highway Collection. OBV: Roman consul walking left accompanied by two lictors. REV: eagle facing left stands on scepter clutching laurel wreath in right talon. That ancient technology was capable of such detail on both sides of a coin nearly defies belief. While struck perhaps 15% off-center, the flan still somehow received flowline effect very much similar to modern cartwheel luster.
