Included are: BG-727 (astonishingly high grade and blatantly prooflike), BG-728 (drenched in curiously lackluster greenish hue and unusually well struck), and BG-872 (rather outstanding citrus-gold on the obverse and lemon-yellow on the reverse with semi-prooflike reflectivity). Gold Dollars-Indian Princess Head, Large Head
Mintage: 13,000. 23 graded MS-61, 17 higher at NGC. Lurking in an area of low survival rates in mint-state, the 1860-S is not quite as scarce as preceding years and often comes semi-prooflike, although this specific select representation shows only minimal flash. Roll friction scatters into the fields and takes on slightly deeper orange hue while coppery tones persist in better protected areas.
