101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Scott Laiter Collection. The Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award seems fitting for a coin that may not be necessarily inexpensive, yet still can be easy to underestimate. In this particular instance, the cataloger cannot recall seeing another example that displays such an eye-catching amount of color compressed into such a tiny presentation, especially for a relatively mundane grade. Color runs the gamut of peach-green, sunset-yellow and lavender-orange mixed throughout. Further, quality seems at worst on-par with MS-64 as the surface reveals no singularly noticeable abrasions.
