Cal-767, Potosi mint, Philip III, and a hefty 13.76g per PCGS. The Atocha treasure yielded contemporary 4-reales, but those are typically lighter in weight due to attrition to saltwater corrosion. Not so this delightful pewter-grey and tan example. Somewhat of an oval shape with indented left-right edges received a superbly centered strike, the all-important P-B mintmark-assayer combination easily legible, as is the utterly bold denomination.

Considerable coral-gold, carrot-orange and bluish grey intermingle on both sides, roughly correlating to a pattern of album color. Trivial linear abrasions on the cheek are worth noting, as are windmill energy and a slightly below average strike.
