Gold $2.50-Indian Head Quarter Eagle
Observing only the obverse might well lead one to expect the gem grade as this side displays marvelous fine matte texture. The reverse takes on the majority of abrasions, showing squiggly shiny lines and a light mark above PLU. An unusually thorough and well delineated strike pushes this particularly 1914-D toward the top of MS-64.

But popping up out of nowhere is this ravishing and highly appealing ChCU example that may have deserved EPQ consideration as the paper is so nice and seems so very original. Centering all the way around could hardly be improved upon and the note overall offers decent embossing.
