  • Gem Dandy! There are five Gem uncirculated Morgan silver dollars that come together to form this breath-taking lot of PCGS certified beauties. Included in this group lot is an 1885-O MS-65+, an 1897-S MS-65, an 1898-O MS-65 (OGH), a 1900-O MS-65CAC, and a 1904-O MS-65 (OGH). While each example is truly deserving of the lofty grades assigned, the 1900-O stands out with a truly mesmerizing target toning pattern that is impossible to ignore (ck).

  • The Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award immediately comes to mind for a better-date silver dollar that has everything going for it, including the very-gem technical grade that takes into account an unusually thorough strike for a date often found with incomplete central details. More important, it seems clear that this silver dollar spent decades in a Kraft envelope as both sides have developed somewhat irregular but extremely attractive tortoise-shell toning. Toning on the obverse gathers up olive-grey, sunset gold, ruby-orange and indigo hues with a touch of cyan toward a couple of stars, while the reverse reflects magenta-rose, turquoise-gold and chartreuse-orange, a bit better organized into somewhat circular patterns.
