  • 1907-S Liberty NGC MS-65
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • The 1907-S represents the last year of mintage for the $20 Liberty series and is one of the preeminent conditional rarities in the type three sequence. Despite a substantial mintage of over 2 million pieces, the 1907-S Liberty double eagle represents a challenge for collectors pursuing gem-level coins of this series. The 1907-S is uncommon in MS-64, and rare at the MS-65 level. Neither PCGS nor NGC have certified any examples in higher numeric grades than what is now offered, with just 36 MS-65 examples certified between the two services. (CE).
