A combination of supply scarcity and incredibly low mintages have caused the fractional issues of the American Platinum Eagle series to skyrocket in value over recent years. The inception of this series took place in 1998 and by the end of 2008 only 1oz. issues were being struck. Six 2005 $25 (1/4oz.) pieces fill this group lot of NGC certified examples that have all been graded as MS-70. Quarter Dollars-Liberty Seated
Type-2 reverse. A large mintage of 1150 pieces anticipated heavy demand as the centennial year of the nation's birth. Expectations may also explain the apparent extra care taken to produce these proofs as this is a typically razor-sharp example with no sign of weakness whatsoever. Phenomenal, velvety violet-green deeply saturates the obverse and layers over the outer areas of the reverse where it surrounds salmon-gold hues.
