The Citizens National Bank of Sedalia, Missouri. Based on tracing adjacent serial numbers, one might suspect a cache of these Sedalia tens was found and dispersed at some point in the distant past. Now, collectors have an opportunity to obtain this example that boasts razor-sharp signatures and superb margins. Dimes-Liberty Seated
17 graded MS-67, 5 higher at PCGS. 1887 is one of several hoard dates within the Seated Liberty dime series that sees hundreds of UNC examples still in existence. That said, very few could possibly meet the almost-devastating level of quality witnessed here as a ridiculous amount of silver-bright mint luster compresses into the small fields on either side. The reverse maybe even grades a point higher but alas, several tiny intrusions into the obverse right field preclude perfection.
