  • Lot #256 - Group of U.S. type coins in a Dansco 7070 album
  • Hammer: $2,300
  • Collector Lots-U.S. Type
  • Cochrane Gambit Consignment. Unlimited potential! There are twenty-five scattered examples in this partially filled Dansco album United States type collection. Included in this sparsely filled collection are the following issues: an 1844 large cent (AU+, artificial tone), an 1862 Indian cent (BU, obverse cleaned), an 1884 Indian cent (AU), an 1868 Two Cent piece (BU), an 1853-O Seated half-dime (AU+), a 1913 Type 1 Buffalo nickel (BU), a 1938-D Jefferson nickel (Gem BU), an 1897 Barber dime (BU, cleaned), an 1831 Capped Bust quarter (BU, lightly cleaned), an 1899 Barber quarter (AU++), a 1917 Type 1 Standing Liberty quarter (BU), an 1838 Capped Bust half-dollar (VF+), a 1915-S Barber half-dollar (BU, cleaned), a 1940 Walking Liberty half-dollar (MS-63+), a 1937-D Oregon Trail half-dollar (BU, toned), a 1935-S San Diego half-dollar (MS-63+), and a 1904-O Morgan dollar (MS-63+). While there are certainly more empty slots than filled, this particular set’s overall quality would make a great launching point for anyone looking to build a higher echelon set (ck).

  • Lot #350 - 1834 Classic Head NGC MS-63 PL
  • Hammer: $8,750
  • Gold $2.50-Classic Head Quarter Eagle
  • Breen-6138, small head. 3 graded MS-63 PL, 7 higher at NGC. Evidently, the small head subvariety was struck off of one die-marriage although Breen cataloged two. The 1834 is readily available as a type representative in most grades, but with the highly coveted prooflike designation, the population falls very rapidly. A quick glance is sufficient to gather in the gorgeous cameo contrast seen for this choice coin, although the reverse fields are set aglow with some additional royal gold accents.
