Half Dollars-Capped Bust, Lettered Edge
Bachelor Simon Collection. Overton-112, the die-marriage ubiquitously used to represent the "50/20c" reverse. Gleaming silver-bright surfaces make this an instant best-seller example for the collector who must have the most brilliant possible circulated coin for his type or date collection. The coin expresses outstanding luster and suffers merely one delicate scratch on the middle curl as well as extensive flowline texture on the reverse.

Lot #550 - 1909-S NGC MS-66

13 graded MS-66, zero higher at NGC. Not so many years ago, 1909-S was considered rare in high grade until a hoard of better examples entered the market and helped increase the supply of gem examples. That said, this spectacular coin, showing exceptional copper-gold color, exceeds the gem grade by a full point at NGC, and places it smack dab into the discussion of finest-known pieces at that grading company (PCGS claims two higher graded examples).

Close inspection reveals superbly frosted surfaces and a lack of major marks; the cataloger suggests the one lone depression down the left edge of Liberty's gown may be the most noticeable. On the reverse, what appears at first to be a micro pinscratch could actually be an interesting strikethrough, which could then be of significant interest as a provenance marker for a coin this scarce. An exquisite, much better date within the series that would be almost impossible to beat in terms of quality.

A gorgeous custom-made ring set featuring a 1.71 ct. princess cut center diamond, VS2 clarity, L color with French cut side sapphires on the profile and approximately .35 cttw in round brilliant diamonds on the engagement ring and band, SI clarity, I color. The shadow band fits perfectly around the curve of the princess cut and both rings have hand engraving on the bands. Ring size 4, 7.1 dwt.
