  • Lot #799 - 1853 Arrows and Rays AU/PVC
  • Hammer: $700
  • Quarter Dollars-Liberty Seated
  • Cochrane Gambit Consignment. Cataloger's grade: [AU-58] but also noted is a potential trace of PVC that almost certainly can be successfully removed with professional conservation. The coin has much of the appeal of UNC given bright, shimmering silvery character beneath a mild helping of greyish peripheral toning. Trace wispy abrasions in the fields and circulation marks at far left profess the grade.

  • Lot #665 - 1892-O PCGS MS-60 (rattler) GOLD CAC
  • Hammer: $675
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Lemonade Stand Collection. The gold sticker seems to imply that CAC considers this to grade at least MS-61 but the cataloger is perfectly satisfied with the near-basal mint-state grade due to several factors. Centers are really very soft and widely abraded although the fields are about on par with a higher graded silver dollar. All this being said, the quality is at least amplified a bit by vibrant luster.
