Copeland Society Consignment. Gem Uncirculated examples litter this nineteen-coin group lot of Morgan silver dollars that have been “graded” by NTC, PCI, and CRC. Ther is a beautiful mixture of gorgeously toned and blast white examples that have all been assigned lofty grades that most would consider a bit too high based on current grading standards. Included in this eye catching group lot are the following issues: an 1879-O PCI MS-65, an 1880-O NTC MS-65, an 1880-S NTC MS-68, an 1881-O NTC MS-66, an 1882-O NTC MS-65, an 1883-O NTC MS-67, an 1884-O NTC MS-67, an 1885-O NTC MS-67, an 1887-O NTC MS-66, an 1888-O NTC MS-66, an 1889-O CRC MS-63, an 1891-O NTC MS-65, an 1898-O NTC MS-66, an 1899-O NTC MS-67, a 1900-O NTC MS-67, a 1901-O NTC MS-67, a 1902-O NTC MS-67, a 1904-O NTC MS-67, and a 1921 NTC MS-67. 54 graded MS-66, 10 higher at NGC. As the 24th state admitted to the Union, the mint denoted that status on an apparent minority with "2x4" stamped into the obverse left field. And as a result of lower mintage combined with generally mediocre quality for the type, a very-gem example like this is a welcome option over the usual lackluster examples on the market. This coin features superb, original platinum-tan coloration throughout, surrounded by a hint of deeper russet-gold. Fewer than a handful of trivial nicks on the cheek and some brief, faint hairline abrasions across the shoulder appear to be the extant of contact.
