Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
Mintage: 12,000. 27 graded AU-53, 44 higher at PCGS. Somewhat lustrous despite seven points of circulation, this double-eagle clearly started out with brilliant qualities rather than the semi-prooflike character often seen. Richer orange hues layer over nicely struck devices, and only expectant circulation marks show throughout; there are no singularly mentionable abrasions.

Smokiness stronger on the obverse, the reverse gives way to more complexion; inner melon greens mix into sunset hues near rim.
