Large Cents-Draped Bust
Elm Then Almond Collection. Sheldon-189, a famously near-impossible key date to get straight-graded at any major grading service. Contrary to many low-grade pieces that have either a weak date or LIBERTY, this example features a nicely bold date, and LIBERTY has partial weakness only at the upper third of each letter. The coin was struck off of early dies, showing a small die chip between "E" of ONE and "T" of CENT -- a worthy diagnostic as to authenticity. An amazingly nice surface for the grade given the utter lack of environmental effects aside from normal circulation.

Intensely brilliant despite faint greyish carbon flecking. Trivial surface nicks at and just below the elbow appear to be the only mentionable abrasions as the reverse-- typically a problem area -- survives with scarcely any contact whatsoever. An outstanding and nicely struck California.

I have to admit, this one won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but you will have to admit that it’s pretty darn cool! The center has a precious orangey marquise coral cabochon. There is a freeform, bezel set fossilized ammonite stone and the piece is completed with a elongated cabochon identified as rutilated quartz. None of the stones have indications of polymers or dyes, Stone Group Laboratories report #240827R-SJ. This piece has a pin on the back and also opens so it can be added to chain. Dimensions 4" x 1.5", 26.2 dwt.
