  • Lot #511 - 1873-S Open 3 PCGS AU-58 CAC
  • Hammer: $2,900
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Ash-grey patina tends to subdue the luster on either side, a remnant of delicate circulation although the reverse seems slightly more energetic. One medium nick just below the ear joins a plethora of other much smaller, scattered abrasions. The reverse was struck off of a moderately failed die, a circular die crack connecting many of the peripheral letters.

  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine.
