  • Buying in bulk? A total of four United States coin sets including Mercury dimes, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, and Franklin halves all in Whitman albums fills this massive group lot. Three of the four sets are complete with only the Mercury dimes set missing two key date examples, which are the 1916-D and 1942/41. It is worth noting that the Washington quarter set does have a 1932-D (VF+) and a 1932-S (VF). Nothing but circulated examples are noticed in each set with only a few exceptions sprinkled throughout. Possibly the best “bang for your buck” in this entire sale (ck).

  • 13 graded PR-65 UCAM, 1 graded PR-65 UCAM "star", 24 higher at NGC. An incomparable series in terms of eye-appeal per square millimeter, proof gold dollars appear to have been melted at a high rate such that truly top-shelf survivors are rare today. This example boasts nearly outrageous eye-appeal that takes full advantage of intense white-gold on black contrast and pinpoint detailing. So much brilliance emits back to the viewer that no loupe is required to appreciate the exquisite care and preservation evident on both sides. And some delicate, wispy surface grazes can also be perceived without magnification. Gold coloration remains steady and consistent after almost a century and a half, with the mirrored fields glimmering so nicely beneath a good lamp.
