Gold $5-Capped Bust to Left Half Eagle
Bass-Dannreuther-1, R.3. Undoubtedly dedicated to a necklace early in life, this 1809/8 capped bust half-eagle suffered the indignity of a hole piercing the field at 12:00. A fairly competent effort was made to fill it in, with better results shown on the reverse.

Clem Stevens Collection. VAM-3A, which is often found prooflike due to refinishing of the dies. The mirrors seen here are above average in depth even for DMPL, although they would not be considered UDM. Very well struck -- almost ideally so, in fact -- with blazing, colorless surfaces that show incredible white brilliance.

I have to admit, this one won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but you will have to admit that it’s pretty darn cool! The center has a precious orangey marquise coral cabochon. There is a freeform, bezel set fossilized ammonite stone and the piece is completed with a elongated cabochon identified as rutilated quartz. None of the stones have indications of polymers or dyes, Stone Group Laboratories report #240827R-SJ. This piece has a pin on the back and also opens so it can be added to chain. Dimensions 4" x 1.5", 26.2 dwt.
