Benjamin J. Collection. Cataloger's grade: [AU-58]. The appearance is virtually every bit of Choice BU, including outstanding, full luster that runs uninterrupted through the fields, as well as razor-sharp details. Careful examination will find some subtle slidemarks on the cheek but on balance, this is a truly outstanding key dollar for the album collection aficionado.

Lot #871 - 1909-S VDB Lincoln PCGS MS-64RB CAC

Growth Collection. There was a phase about ten years ago when MS-64 RB was considered "best" for the 1909-S VDB in terms of bang for the buck, and perhaps that holds true today. This example certainly seems on the verge of a red designation as either side gleams with 85% of the vintage brick-orange hue. Interestingly, this key cent was possibly struck off of a very slightly clipped planchet, since what appears to be a trio of tiny rim dings at first glance prove, upon closer inspection, to be almost certainly as-struck. An exceptionally detailed Lincoln cent with virtually no disturbances that would meaningfully preclude higher grade consideration.
