  • Lot #507 - 1873 Open 3 PCGS MS-60
  • Hammer: $2,900
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Paisley Brayden Hunter Collection. Misplaced or blundered date (?). Apparently, the trace of a digit exists in the denticles beneath each of "8" and "7" in the date, although the cataloger could not find mention in any references. Exceedingly bright as if heavily dipped, yet both sides are fully lustrous and obviously qualify for mint-state status. Roll friction slides into the obverse fields without breaking through flowline luster. A few trivial rim nicks show on the upper reverse.

  • Hammer: $1,150
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Almost ridiculous in terms of extreme, original preservation, a thick pile of medium grey patina could practically be flaked off the surface with a fork. Curiously shiny lavender hue traces over the rims, joined by subtle similar accents elsewhere on some highpoint details. A strangely compelling key Carson City dollar.
