  • Lot #507 - 1873 Open 3 PCGS MS-60
  • Hammer: $2,900
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Paisley Brayden Hunter Collection. Misplaced or blundered date (?). Apparently, the trace of a digit exists in the denticles beneath each of "8" and "7" in the date, although the cataloger could not find mention in any references. Exceedingly bright as if heavily dipped, yet both sides are fully lustrous and obviously qualify for mint-state status. Roll friction slides into the obverse fields without breaking through flowline luster. A few trivial rim nicks show on the upper reverse.

  • Lot #412 - 1878 NGC AU-55
  • Hammer: $1,250
  • Gold $3-Indian Princess Head
  • Very attractive powdery copper hue layers the whole surface yet still leaves plenty of room for luster to shine through. An average strike emerges despite very light wear on the highpoints. Yet in spite of all this, the surface has managed to survive amazingly unscathed, adding to choice consideration.
