US Currency-Federal Reserve Notes, Small
Embossing still shows despite mostly light wear for this St. Louis five-hundred. While the back of the notes sees good centering, the front skews very far to the left, practically meeting the design border against the edge of the paper.

Much scarcer as a gem than 1908 or 1910 the 1909 does often get nicer production quality as exhibited by this superbly struck example. Consistently attractive and unblemished ultra-fine matte frost lays over the entire surface and valiantly attempts to emulate the inimitable appearance of a matte proof. A fabulous coin with everything going for it at the assigned grade.
