  • Gold Dollars-Indian Princess Head, Large Head
  • 84 graded MS-62, 61 higher at NGC. The Red Book seemingly underrates how much rarer the "upright 5" is compared to the "slanted 5" sub-type as they appear to be substantially scarcer by comparison. Bag friction in the fields seems to have helped define the grade yet this example features ample pale luster and decent sharpness except for "ERI" on the obverse.

  • Pacific Coast Highway Collection. KM#364, Lisbon mint. Cataloger's grade: AU/ex-jewelry. 1824 represents the final year of issue for the 6400-reis gold coin. Some reddish residue embedded into the engrailed edge and the semi-polished appearance speak to use as a cosmetic item in years past.
