101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. 1 graded MS-64+, 14 higher at NGC. For a date sometimes found prooflike, this is a fully lustrous and matte-textured example that offers screaming vibrancy. Neither side can be called fully struck but prominently details are boldly sculpted and accented with smidges of olive-bronze toning. A carbon spot rests on the end of uppermost arrowhead on the reverse.
