Copeland Society Consignment. Cataloger's grade: [AU-58]. Exceptionally close to mint-state, especially as robust olive-gold and orange-purple toning tends to downplay finger friction with the fields. Slight rub on the cheek and eagle's breast speak to brief introduction to the channels of commerce. Linear abrasions can be found in the field beneath Liberty's chin.

Although not truly rare, the 1882-CC sports that all-consuming mintmark that many collectors cannot resist, and the attractive sub-hundred thousand mintage helps ensure forever popularity of the date. In fact, the only real evidence of commercial usage appears to be a number of fleeting hairlines in the fields.
